[imood mood at time of entry: tired]

Note: “Tonight” refers to Sunday, March 6, 2005’s evening hours. I have not gone to sleep yet, so it is still “tonight” to me.

Tonight turned out well. I went for a stroll through the Museum’s gift shop, like I always do when in the area, and I found virtually nothing to buy. I looked through nearly everything in the store, and nothing stuck out. I wanted to buy something for my Mom. At the last minute, I spotted the bunch of Chinese jade good luck charms that I bought an OX carving from for myself several weeks ago. I noticed that the free standing display was gone, and I just happened to spot where they had been stacked in a metal bin with other items situated in their own metal sections.

I looked through every single charm available, and only came up with my Mother’s Chinese sign, the Cock/Rooster. One of the women working there looked up my brother’s sign in the computer, and they simply did not have it in stock. I think that it was the only one which was not present. I saw tons of the others. That same woman told me that he was the Hare. Nifty.

I need to get around to doing something about the wife comm. Granted, I have been without a computer for the better part of the last week, but stopping by after an absence made the need for more decoration noticeable. I suppose that I always noticed, but seeing that Chaos was actually stopping by makes me want to tidy the place up a bit.

The movie I saw, When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, was fantasitc too! I plan to attend as many of the museum films as I can if I am not working, or if they can be afforded. The movie seemed oddly familiar though. I guess that I have seen many English versions of the same plot.

Basically, the film is about a woman who works in several different bars, and is being pressured by everyone she knows to be friendly with the customers in order to make more money for the bar. She goes through several ‘relationships’ of sorts, and tries to figure out what she is going to do, and which principles she is most determined to live by. I rather liked the inner strength she displays throughout most of the film. She also tries to find ways to branch out on her own through many unexpected beginnings and endings.

I loved The Maltese Falcon because it had all of these twists that I had not seen coming. Well, I guessed who the killer was in the first five minutes, and got it correct. It was not that the plot was so see-through, but that I can usually tell. It is very involved. A nice piece of 40s era film making, and something I would suggest people see if they are interested in film to any degree.

Just thinking back over the films I watched this weekend makes me quite eager as I look forward to next weekend. I don’t think that I am working, and for once, that is okay by me.

Oh, I need to get on with my job hunting. I kept asking my Mom to bring home the paper, but she always forgot it/could not locate the paper. I picked up a listing on the way home over the weekend, and I saw a few things on the first few pages that I might be interested in. Bell(wo)man sounds cool, or Room Sevice Food Server. I always wanted those jobs. I think I saw an opening for Doorperson as well.

I suppose that I am going to enjoy having my Internet back now before I head off for sleep. I have been awake about 19 hours. At 7 AM, it would be a full 24. Yippee! Darn early work call times! Heh.
