Give Pause

[imood mood at time of entry: good]

Dear Goddess, its been a lifetime since I have written here in Internet reckoning. It hasn’t looked much better for my offline journal either. I have either been extremely busy or falling-out tired.

I suppose that I should start with the Black Eyed Peas concert with Diamond. That concert effectively ended our awkward friendship. She was stingy with her camera and her mother bitched me out for something like 25 minutes over how often I speak. She made herself seem all great and wonderful, and I was this know-it-all who simply WOULD NOT shut up. Bitch. So that brief friendship ended that night (March 19, 2004).

I ended up getting picked as an original extra for Friday Night Lights production. I was called by the man in charge of extras’ casting several times, but I was never at home. I am pretty pissed that I don’t have a cell phone right about now. I missed out on a pretty cool opportunity because the man couldn’t reach me.

I did end up being a production assistant on the set of the movie. I worked for the company that was filling part of the Astrodome with inflatible people. That was an interesting experience and I am glad that I had it. I am still sore from walking up all those stairs, around the Astrodome, and up and down all the steep ramps inside and outside of the Astrodome. If you couldn’t tell, the filming location is the Astrodome. It’s now dark and majorly creepy in the areas that we worked in most of the time. There was quite a fear of horror-style killers running amuck among the dummies in the group. I was certain that I would be taken down by one of the many dummies that I had spoke unkind words to. I tried to make amends by making pleasant conversation, but those little dummy eyes were not having any of it. I think that I am luck to have made it out of there alive! *lol* We even stressed the “take-a-buddy method” when going to the restroom.

Anyway, I met some nice people and some not-so-nice people. There were definitely a few people that I wanted to smack due to their bossiness. They weren’t even in charge and they were slinging orders around like their name was Richard, that was my boss’ name. I had to spend a bit of time whispering calming words to myself to keep myself from flipping out on these annoying people. For the most part, everyone there was creative in some way. There were many writers present who wrote in different styles. We had everything from short stories to movie scripts. The talent among the original group covered it all. I was delighted to work with such lovely people.

More often than not, the people there had more than one talent which was cool too. Most of them had worked on movie sets before a PA (that’s production assistant for the non-Hollywood folk like myself) and/or an extra.

There’s so much to write about the experience and the last couple of weeks that I truly don’t think that I could get it all out in one journal entry.

I did re-signup to be an entra since more are needed. Hopefully, I will get picked (again!) and I won’t miss the call this time.

I will have a nice check coming to me, but I have to pay all my bills first. Guh. I think that I’d like to shoot the person who lost my library books in the return process which now forces me to have to pay for them.

I have been working on my Derrick and Camilie story and I am going to have some not-so-nice things happen to Derrick. I stopped working on my Haldir fic since I have been overcome with the feeling that it is utterly ridiculous. I kind of added a few lines and then stopped again.

School’s almost over and I have to proofread. Maybe there will be more later.

Once you have done that you can upload pictures that you have saved on your computer. I have a bunch of pictures that I have taken of myself with my webcam. =) I am not a paying user of anything. Hahaha. I never will be.
