Happy National Pancake Day!

(5:54 P.M. – 6:08 P.M. US Central Time/Tuesday/HCC library)

[imood mood at time of entry: hopeful]

I just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a Happy National Pancake Day. *grins* For today only, everyone can visit their local International House of Pancakes (IHOP) and receive a short stack for free in celebration of Fat Tuesday.

The catch:

  • One short stack = Three pancakes, whose size will vary based on the location
  • You must dine in.
  • The one here were asking for a donation, but I don’t believe that you need to give one in order to eat.
  • I visited my local IHOP this morning, and I rather enjoyed myself. There was some excellent conversation provided by my Uncle Mike, who my mother thought to invite. It looks like we are going to work on a website for his company again. He has specifically asked me about the best ways to promote one’s site on the Internet. I mentioned banner ads and told him to skip pop ups, but I also told him that email signatures, journals, and Craig’s List are good (FREE!!!) ways to promote his up-coming site.

I also stressed a few things that are important for any good site to succeed: no overly-bright colors, easy-to-read fonts, and good customer service. I am the sort of person who is willing to pay a little extra just to have customer service. Hence the reason why I have the evil America Online as my ISP. Meh.

I also want to wish everyone a belated Happy National Polar Bear Day. I was a too preoccupied on Neopia and LiveJournal (Okay, mostly Neopia. . .) yesterday to come over and post about it then.

Here is a photograph of a family of polar bears to help along that spirit.

    Rawr!

It seems that I might also be hosting a fan fiction challenge in my LJ. *crosses fingers* I certainly hope that enough people are interested in a multi-fandom challenge, so that it will be successful.

    1. I saw the ihop thing on snopes.com. It’s days like today I wish that we had an Ihop here. I don’t really like pancakes but man that would have been a nice thing today.

I ordered the wrong book for school (thanks to them putting the wrong number on the booklist). So now I have homework that i need to do, no clue how to do it and yeah and my new book is supposed to be in my box on Wednesday.

    2. It was a question on snopes about if it was true or not. That was the first and only time I heard about it other than your diary. But probably because the nearest one is like 300 miles away. lol

I need the software that comes with the book which was part of the problem. After calling the publisher. Searching on Amazon and calling the school bookstore I had 4 different ISBN’s, the wrong book and the wrong software. So in the end I just bit the bullet and bought the book again from the bookstore at school except since they are only open during the day on week days and they are an hour away from me I asked that they send it down to my mailbox at school. So we shall see. This is like third time the school has messed up the booklist ISBNS or the actual books. Geez.

When I bought the house (well I’m still payng for it) it was the cheapest house, on the best lot, in the best condition with no alley (big selling point for me). It was a residential not an apartment neighborhood. Quiet area (dumb ass me bought it right next to the one bad person in the entire neighborhood).

The mine is across the highway which is a street if you think about it from a large city point of view. Eventually the mine will move across the highway and be forced to buy the house which I bought forclosed so it was super cheap. They’ll offer me well above what it’s worth. If I move before then chances are I’ll make a $20,000 profit on this place anyways which is nice.

But yeah. At the time it was the nicest place. The other ones I looked at were hell holes. Needed new walls, new basements, new floors (like floor floor not like floor covering), windows. Stuff like that.
