Certified Snow!

[imood mood at time of entry: good]

Life’s kind of funny right now with everything that’s happened in the last week. One comment from Chaos has completely taken my fear of death away. Not that you comment was not appreciated, Aeolian. It’s just that I have always wanted to hear exactly what death is like. I have had my experiences with the pull to ‘go home’ a few times, as it were, but I wanted to hear from someone else who had truly crossed over.

What’s more exciting is that I got two huge gifts in one day. Yesterday (Friday, December 24, 2004), Southeast Texas got snow! Honest to goodness snow! We never get snow here! I can only clearly remember seeing flurries one time in my life, though I think it might have been twice. I went outside and took pictures and giggled like a kid/fangirl. Oh, and the myth that every snowflake is different, is utterly wrong. I saw two that looked exactly alike. They were shaped like the Star of David.

I also got a certificate from Poetry.Com naming me Editor’s Choice. I know that tons of people must have gotten these by now, but on my CD that my poem is being featured on, only 32 other people are on it. So that was nice.

I am now working on entries to go in The Pimp Cane‘s Christmas Fic Challenge. I had already decided to have a go at the challenges, but then I told my friend Lucy about the nasty author who was also entering the challenge. I told her how she had been unnecesarily mean to me after I gave her a wonderful compliment on a story that she wrote for a mutual friend of ours. I would think she would be nice to people who give her compliments, but that is not the case with her. She’s completely full of herself.

Well, Lucy went by and read the stories that she posted for the challenge, and told me that they were awful, and that she was as stuck up as I said she was. Actually, she said she was much worse than I told she was. Her entire journal is about how cool she is, and why everyone should worship her. Ugh!

Now, we are working hard to get the Challenges answered. We have even been getting encouraging feedback for our stories! Yay!! *lol* Not to mention, the snobby author has not been getting feedback. . . *chuckles* I guess being full of yourself will come back on you.

Oh! I also have a job now! I work at a sports arena here in a lounge area. It’s pretty swanky there. *lol* I have to go to orientation this Tuesday (December 28, 2004). I can finally start to save up to go away and fix up my computer! I am pretty gosh darned happy right now. I just hope it stays this way. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention, it’s a Full Moon tonight. I feel the need to go outside and pray or something. I do love a Full Moon.

  1. I never was much of a heaven/hell type person. I mean if you look at my track record I’d be going to hell for sure so I was kind of happy to see that I landed in a beautiful place.

Anyways, congrats on the job. Hopefully this one is way better than your Mc D’s job was.

You can so have some of my snow here also. I have quite a bit to spare.
