Killer Love

It seems quite fashionable to kill one’s pregnant wife or girlfriend these days. Everyone from the local killing that happened here, to the ones on the West Coast, have flooded the news as of late. It is scary as hell to know the man that I laid with, and carried the child of, would kill me. I remember my greatest fears about getting pregnant was that the father was not going to pay child support, claim the child as his, or that my virginity and “honor” would be squandered, but now I have to worry about whether the guy will kill me!

Apparently, acquiring a skinny, non-pregnant mistress is also a part of the package. I don’t believe the man here had a mistress though. The local man, Dan Leach II, killed his pregnant girlfriend and made it look like a suicide. He was extremely successful, and no one knew the difference. I never thought the Mel Gibson preachy Jesus flick would ever do much good except inflame the country’s citizens, and encourage them to go preachy on their non-Christian brethren. It served a greater purpose here. The man confessed to the killing after watching the movie and his conscious got the better of him. The other two alleged wife-killers, Scott Peterson and Mark Hacking, were neatly caught in their lies.

So does this mean, that if I get pregnant, I have worry about going to sleep at night, or letting my guard down around my husband? I would never want to be in a position where having a baby meant the threatening of my life. Just another reason not to have sex. One moment I’m happy and in love, and the next no one would be able to find my body! One of way too many reasons that are steadily mounting. Good Grief! I wonder how people manage to reproduce with killer husbands and diseases running around.
